On the evening of September 27, 2015 there was a total eclipse of the moon visable from Burnsville, MN. This animated GIF was created from 24 still frames shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 camera with a 45-200mm zoom lens set to 200mm. The images were then cropped with Irfanview to attempt to center the moon. GIMP was used to combine the 24 frames into the animated GIF. These 24 frames span 48 minutes of real time.
